I am an integrative, client-focused therapist. My theoretical orientation is rooted in Psychodynamic theory and Contemplative Psychology, but in practice I use a wide variety of therapies to best serve my clients. I am well-informed by many sources and use any and all information at my disposal to help clients on their journey of self-discovery. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I incorporate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach specifically tailored to each client’s needs. Whenever possible, I use homework and bibliotherapy to integrate and build upon themes discovered in session.
With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual, couple, or family to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. I enjoy working with clients to create achievable yet significant goals in their lives and then continuing to support them moving forward on their individual path of discovery and growth. In addition, I work to bring together families in an effort to build understanding, compassion, and communication.
My area of expertise is non-normative grief, addressing the process of integrating loss surrounding suicide, homicide, and overdose deaths. In addition I enjoy working with organizations to cultivate values-based culture change and to address vicarious traumatization or burnout in high stress or emotionally taxing workplaces.
I believe every client’s story is worth listening to, and I enjoy getting to know my clients as they realize their own strengths and abilities in an effort to rise to the challenge of their lives. It is an honor to be present as people find their way back to themselves.
